Is learning a self-defense that works important to you?

We teach the martial arts system of AKKI Kenpo. This practical self-defense system is designed for modern streets not the streets of some ancient land long ago or a distant foreign culture. You will learn a highly practical self defense system with direct, logical, and instinctive movements that do not rely on physical strength or size to work. As an AKKI Kenpo practitioner, you will be equipped for every situation you can imagine. You will learn a complete self-defense, one that teaches all aspects of self-defense.

Do you want a school that gives you more personal attention?

Unlike most martial arts studios, we limit our class sizes. Our focus is on the student, and your progress is our primary concern. The more attention you get, the faster you will learn and the more confident you will be.

Do you want helpful instructors with real qualifications?

We have been teaching Kenpo in Carroll County since 1997, and our chief instructor has been teaching the martial arts for 25 + years. Mr. Guercio tested from blue belt through black belt in front of the founder and President of the International Kenpo Karate Association, Mr. Ed Parker. He is also a direct student of 10th degree black belt Mr. Paul Mills who has more than 40 years experience in the martial arts and was a direct and private student of Mr. Ed Parker.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of dishonesty in the martial arts industry today, and many martial arts school owners pay to get their black belt or teaching certification quickly. Many of these people have little or no formal training and some have no legitimate training at all. Many are not members of any organization that regulates quality standards. At CCKK, our training history is legitimate, and our instructors have the credentials and experience to teach you correctly.

Do you want to learn a self-defense that is practical?

Kenpo is a tailored art, which means it is designed to fit you. The movements of Kenpo are based on natural body movements. You will never be asked to do something that you cannot do or that is dangerous to perform. At CCKK, you will learn how to effectively defend yourself against attack effectively with practical and logical self-defense movements.

Do you want an easy going and friendly environment to learn in?

While structure and discipline are important in the martial arts environment, the instruction at CCKK does not follow a militaristic format. Many schools do not allow talking and frown upon questioning the instructors. At CCKK, we are not afraid of questions and we encourage you to ask them. We want you to know all facets of Kenpo and questioning is how you learn the whys.
